So, dad has set a not unreasonable challenge. We're not purchasing food and instead making meals out of what we have. I'm up for the challenge as it's like a science experiment to me, because I'm not much of a cooker. This is the progress so far.

This is a recipe that needed to be made apparently. I stumbled upon it, as well as other fancy foil pack recipes, when searching out the regular Girl Scout one. Then The Sister sent it to me, then dad. It's actually one of 20 in a list, but this is the one I chose to make.
I went a little banana crazy on Saturday night and made two banana desserts using eight bananas. There was a cake that I talk about in the previous post, but in this one I'll be talking about Banana Pudding, which dad requested, and not so slightly at that.
I went a little banana crazy on Saturday night and made two banana desserts using eight bananas. It just started out that I needed to use up all of that buttercream frosting from my final baking challenge, but then dad nicely demanded that I make banana pudding. But, we'll first talk about the cake to use up the buttercream; Banana Upside Down Cake.
I'm currently participating in Domino Sugar's Family Bake Night challenge, and that is week 8's submission photo up there; Easter Surprise Cupcakes. The surprise is that they're filled with candies. This is also the best work I've done during this entire challenge.
I'm currently participating in Domino Sugar's Family Bake Night challenge, and that is week 7's submission photo up there; Brown Sugar Brownies. They're touted as having a caramelized flavour due to the inclusion of brown sugar. These brownies went swimmingly... for the most part.
I'm currently participating in Domino Sugar's Family Bake Night challenge, and that is week 6's submission photo up there; Shamrock Sugar Cookies. It was the week leading up to St. Patrick's Day, which is why I'm sure they chose this particular recipe. However, I decided on a new theme; Springtime in Mississippi.
Also, there were some... issues... which I'm not sure if it's because I'm unskilled at this particular thing or if an ingredient wasn't up to scratch... or something else. This is The Sisters' book that she received as a gift from a friend one year. There are exactly two recipes we use, as we haven't explored the others. In this one, I'll be discussing Broccoli Squares, or as the book refers to it; Funeral Goo, which I find amusing.
It's just this really great, and really easy to make, broccoli casserole. It's absolutely divine and I'm picky about how I eat my broccoli. I'm currently participating in Domino Sugar's Family Bake Night challenge, and that is week 5's submission photo up there; Apple Pie Poppers, or as I like to call them, Baby Pies. They chose pies in honour of National Pi Day (3.14), which has turned into National Pie Day as well.
These are actually really good. And my first successful attempt at pie pastry! I'm so proud! This is a bit of a two-parter here, as there are occurrences within my city that make me shake my head and also an Only In Your State write up about nostalgic restaurants, and well, I did want to say about on both topics really.
